A marketing department has overall responsibility for growing revenue, increasing market share and contributing to company growth and profitability. In a small business, the marketing department may just be one person, or it may include a marketing director or manager plus marketing executives responsible for functions such as advertising, publications or events.
A retailer, or merchant, is an entity who sells goods or commodities in small quantities directly to consumers, through various distribution channels with the goal of earning a profit. In some cases retail is the sale of goods for use and consumption by the purchaser.
Training – RTOs
A registered training organisation in Australia is an organisation providing Vocational Education & Training to students, resulting in qualifications or statements of attainment that are recognised and accepted by industry and other educational institutions throughout Australia.
There are almost 5000 RTOs in Australia, providing training across a wide range of subject areas including traditional trades, advanced technical training, para-professional and professional studies, as well as pre-employment and basic skills programs.
Companies in this industry buy, rent, or lease real estate, manage residential, commercial, and industrial properties, and provide other real estate related services, including appraisals. Demand for real estate is driven by population growth, personal income, employment rates, interest rates, and access to capital.
Meeting and Events Industry
Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events is a type of tourism in which large groups, usually planned well in advance, are brought together for a particular purpose. Most components of MICE are well understood, perhaps with the exception of incentives. Incentive tourism is usually undertaken as a type of employee reward by a company or institution for targets met or exceeded, or a job well done.
Unlike the other types of MICE tourism, incentive tourism is usually conducted purely for entertainment, rather than professional or education purposes. MICE events are usually centered on a theme or topic and are aimed at a professional, academic or trade organization or other special interest group.
Law is the way society regulates its behaviour. The intent of law is to create rules of conduct that are widely understood and respected throughout the jurisdiction in which they were written and to create normalized processes for adjudicating disputes. Because law is a fairly technical profession, not necessarily easily comprehended by the untrained, individuals and companies hire professional lawyers to help them understand it and follow the procedures it defines.

The service industries involve the provision of services to businesses as well as final consumers. Such services include accounting, tradesmanship (e.g. mechanic or plumber services), computer services, restaurants, tourism, etc.
